Sandy Hook program tells kids to look for warning signs
SEYMOUR - See something, say something. That's what students at Seymour Middle School learned Wednesday - and that by being the eyes and ears of their school, they have the power to prevent tragedies. If students see or hear someting that doesn't seem quite right, they need to speak up, immediately, they were told. "You're not snitching. ... You're helping to prevent a tragedy," said Seymour Schools Director of Security Richard Kearns. Kearns brought in the national nonprofit Sandy Hook Promise to help teach kids that it's OK to speak up. The week of Feb. 25 through March 1 is national Say Something Week.
